guides for creating sculptures out of super sculpey?

Hey guys, i am doing a bust sculpture out of super sculpey for my year 12 visual arts major work. I was wondering if anyone had a tutorial on creating high detail sculptures out of sculpey? if not, any advice on which tools should be used and any major elemints of sculpey sculpting would be greatley apreciated.

I’ve used sculpey a little bit; you can just use normal clay tools, anything that’s good for fine details in normal clay should work in sculpey well. Make sure you try to keep the thickness throughout the sculpture about the same, that way you won’t overbake any parts. Just use model mesh and wire to make a general frame; try to keep the thickness at around 1/4″. It doesn’t seem to shrink or anything when you bake it, the baking times and temp are on the box. Also, either before or after you bake it, it is good to use sculpey glaze or something to seal it. I hope this helps!!! Also, you might try lightly wetting it with water when you want to smooth out thumb prints, etc. when you are done, just make sure you let it dry before you bake it. It does not seem to dry out in the air, so you can take your time when sculpting.
