What materials are best for casting custom plastic toy figures?
I have a custom toy design that I am looking to reproduce as plastic, Kid Robot style figures.
What is the best material for casting a mold of a clay figure, painted with acrylics?
What is the best material for casting figures from the mold?

When I made a mold of a clay figure I painted with acrylics, The paint was destroyed. The paint pealed off the figure. The paint had been applied 6 months before. Keep that in mind about when you make your molds.
Edit: I can see using the alginate if you want to preserve the paint. But you will then need to cast the piece in plaster or other material and rework the details and then make a more durable mold.
