Art project- making some objects what materials to use?
For my art exams (all day thursday and friday) I am thinking about making some small objects, things like staplers and pencils (haha sounds weird but yeah it fits in with the project). I was thinking about using air dry clay but 1. I’m not sure where to buy it from near me I live in the UK. Also 2. Air cry clay I have heard can take even 2 weeks to dry and when I’m not making thin pieces but thick pieces of clay to make objects this wouldn’t be suitable?
Would plaster cast work? And what should I do to mould it onto. I could use wire to make the basic shape of the objects. Chicken wire would be the best for this? Also would that take long to dry.
I have about 12 hours for the exam in which everything has to be done.
Any other ideas much appreciated thanks! xx
You could use cardboard that would be a lot easier and all you would need to do is glue the pieces together. Just make a top, bottom and side pieces out of cardboard.Whatever it is you are making.
It would work I think anyway and you won’t need to wait for anything to dry.
Just an idea on my part, but something to think about .
