What is the best casting mold for paraffin wax?
Sculptures together for what I need from you! I know it is possible to melt crayons in any mold: mold candy molds. These molds are completely impractical for me. It is crucial for me and for everyone who likes to draw to find the suitable thin, cylindrical, pencil-like mold. So, I thought, "Why not make my own mold?" I started with plaster, but the wax stuck to him like a leech. I'm going to experiment with other "liberating" substances: petroleum jelly maybe? Are there other mold-making materials that I can use that are resistant to heat, or at least more practical than the cast? The Crayola Crayon Maker sucks.
I'm sure it would work a silicone mold. You can use 100% silicone caulking to find at the hardware store. If some of the jets in water containing a good amount of liquid detergent that does not stick to fingers and can shape into patties and use it as the mold material.
