casting resin pigment
Pigment for resin casting?

I am looking for unusual colors for glass casting resin. Does anyone know where I can buy online cool colors? If anyone has tried acrylic or oil paints and know what works?

The dyes that are sold specifically for resins are available online (and possibly in art supply stores?). They come in transparent and opaque versions of many colors. Here are a few: These are http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T5GGLL_en___US278&q=resin+color used for polyester ("casting") and resins used for epoxy resins (used for coating or casting shallowing) I'm pretty sure. You can also buy materials called "cold enamel" or "epoxy enamels, which are colored epoxy-pre. But you can color resins also yourself with oil paints much cheaper, or other things like a pair of powder pigments, etc. You may be able to use the acrylic paintings of a good, but you have to use only a small amount because they are water-based (as opposed to the resins). Oil paintings are usually transparent / translucent, so if you want a more opaque resin just add a little oil painting of titanium white is very opaque. Of course, you can create any desired color or colors in the paintings for sale, etc, just for the color mixing color you want before adding to the resin (keep in mind that the more deep cast, the darker the color will look after curing). (If you do not already know about the basics of mixing your own colors, you can google lots of information, or you could get most of the same information on my page in the mixture of colors of polymer clay: http://glassattic.com/polymer/color.htm … Click the category * * Mix your own color palette) And if you want to read more about coloring resins, check out this page on my site: http://glassattic.com/polymer/other_materials.htm (… Click on the category called Dyes * y * Includes … And maybe also the cold * Enamels if you are interested in those) HTH, Diane B.
