How do I make a replica of a small statue?
I need to make a replica of a statue for my home (It doesn’t have to be an exact replica but I would like for it to carry similar weight as the original) It is rare and I cannot buy another one. Is there some way to make a mold of this and then pour some kind of plaster/concrete type material in to do this? The shape of this item is simple and has smooth edges so it shouldn’t be difficult to do. I need to make the replica just in case this one ever gets damaged. The material is similar to stone. Thanks in advance!
This item was a gift that was given to me while in Korea in the mid 1970′s.
There is no way to contact the original manufacturer. Hence, there is no way to buy another. I doubt there would be any issues in duplicating this item.
I don’t know if you can get permission from the original creator of the sculpture
You will probably destroy the surface finish,
