lost wax casting metal
next step in the lost wax method?

I'm new to forging, metal casting and have opted for the lost wax method. i have carved and cast my first piece, I need 50 + more "copies" What should I do now? I make a part 2 of my cast mold of first use to then, as negative, but then what? Doing more wax than mold? Using Part 2 of the mold to cast directly? How I can do 50 mold and crush all after driving out or is there a better option. The cast is a currency that has challange 3inch 3D graphics on one side and writing on the other, is cast in aluminum and I need a minimum run of 50 units out of them sucssfulness could run 250.

You make a flexible mold of the original compounds using molded rubber latex or silicone rubber compound quality. http://www.sculpt.com/ with latex backing is made of plaster so it will not flex. Then cast in wax as many duplicates as necessary. # Http://www.mikegigi.com/castgobl.htm LATEXMOLD This link is my page in molding compounds and they will be doing multiples of bigger things that are welded together wax. In the case of currencies, after the cleaning of wax, mount several of them between a pair of connectors so it has a drinking each and a vent them. http://www.mikegigi.com/castgobl.htm # sprues For aluminum, you must provide an additional supply of aluminum in the form funnel or elevator for makeup as it shrinks in the hot mold. Then mount the track (see elsewhere in the pages linked above) and pour in investment. After cooking the wax is heated investment to its maximum temperature to "cure" and lower the temperature of the casting mold, which is about 400F for aluminum. Then melt the aluminum, trying not to go far in the melting point (ie no heat) is available for less deoxygenator porous aluminum http://www.budgetcastingsupply.com/ and bottom of the page. After casting, it will take out the assembly, washed, and cut the sprues and vents and clean the edges where they were attached. It is very useful for planning when setting short elimination drinkers / vents. Have any additional clean up necessary.
