is Le Beau Touché – HM a polymer clay?
I’m going to sculpt a small (about 10 inches tall) horse, and am not sure what to use. I’ve heard polymer clays work well – and I’ve heard Le Beau Touché (HM) also works well. Is this Le Beau Touché a polymer clay? Which might be better for sculpting a horse?
Also, how can I bulk the model up (the ribcage area for example), without just using hoards of clay? I heard the polymer clays like Super Sculpey cannot be used to build up volume in a sculpture because it will not cure properly in the middle. What’s the best thing to use for this? I’ve heard Sculpey UltraLight.
Any sculpting tips would be highly appreciated! Thank you
No, le beau touche is a plasticine (oil-based clay). Which means it will never get hard and is reusable.
You can use wire or aluminum foil for an armature. Or you can make it solid and then hollow it out and close it up except for a small hole.

Le Beau Touché is a sulfur free, extremely smooth and flexible Plasteline with exceptional adhesive qualities. Th HM formula is less sensitive to heat variations and is suggested for use where the working environment is expected to exceed 90°F.
HM is slightly firmer and less tacky than the original Le Beau Touché. Both clays are available in Green, Brown or Cream.
