Which material is best used for modeling such as clay etc?

I am trying to work with sculpture and i am looking for any type of workable modeling material such as clay, but what others are available and could i get it at any crafting stores such as hobby lobby etc.

They are affordable, non-toxic and don’t need to be heated in the oven or fired in a kiln.

Aha – I just found a recipe for air dry clay you can make at home – maybe that’s your answer
