How can I make a model of the statue of liberty with play-doh or clay?

I need some instructions easy enough for a sixth grader… Pictures of a model? Materials?

You can go to www.google.com and type in “statue of liberty images” to get pictures. There is an easy to work with clay out there called Makin’s clay. It is a no-bake clay and would probably work well for this. You can find it in many craft stores where they sell polymer clay.

My thought is unless you have some sculpting experience, this might be hard. I wonder if you can take say a barbie doll (one with moveable elbows) and cover it with the air-dry clay to look like the statue of liberty? You would probably have to take her hair off to get the hairstyle right, but I bet you could make it look really cool. Just an idea to get you going.
