Best Harden Clay Modeling?
I am in search for the best clay that can become harden for using as mold. I will be sculpture the clay on the radio control body and leave it on until clay has become harden. After it has become harden, i will take it off the radio control body and made a mold out of it then casting it.
So my question is which clay would you suggest? I would prefer the one without have to baking in oven for harden.
Thanks!
This is not a clay – Plaster of Pairs it also has the advantage of being inexpensive.
Plaster can be sculpted directly. It goes through stages as the chemical reaction works. It starts very liquid. then thickens, it can get to the consistency of a whipped icing. After it gets hard it can be carved away.
Depending on how you work oil based clay like plasticine would also work. It never gets hard but it is great when mold making. If you want the plasticine to be a little stiffer just stick it in the cold like the refrigerator for a half hour or so. If you are using silicone for a mold; you want to get a type that doesn’t have sulpther
