How can I cast plaster from plaster?
I have a plaster mould of my face, made with mod rock. I need a plaster cast to build a mask on – how can I cast it? I tried a test patch on the other side lubricated with vaseline, but somehow the fresh layer managed to stick anyway. I’m still not sure how that’s physically possible, but it happened.
Is it possible to do what I want to? Or do I have to start again with some other material? That would suck.
You need soft-soap. Order it online from a potters suppliers. You have to work it into the surface of the plaster for ages and it stinks. It works though.
