Molding material – special effects or costume, rubber-like, medical -where do I find this?
I bought a Precious Mold kit to mold my baby’s hand and foot. I mixed the gel with water, put his foot in, and the substance hardened to a rubbery texture. I eased his foot out and poured plaster in and got an amazing little statue! I’d like to do more, but at $25 per kit it’s too expensive.
I also had experience with a similar gray sticky material (smelled like maple syrup), that you spread onto a body part (like a scar), and after several minutes it again hardens to a rubbery, flexible but perfectly formed mold. This was a medical application.
Does anyone know where I can buy some of this material in the GTA so I can do lots of hand and foot molds? Thanks!
GTA is a geographical area. If you’re from here, you’ll know it!

P.S. This question was posted in the general Hobbies & Crafts board, so not sure what “GTA” is… if it’s a place, then you can generally buy various kinds of molding materials at hobby stores, craft stores, art supply stores, and sometimes in other local places, as well as online.
