stone carving chess
where can i find wood or stone carving tools?

i want to carve a chess set out of stone or wood im kind of leaning toward stone or rock does anyone know where i can buy the tools to do this and also where i can buy the right kind of stone rock or wood to carve with ive looked around but i cant find any specialty stores in my area (Pensacola FL)

The stone will dictate the tool. Carbide tipped tools are a must for hard stone (metamorphic and igneous) like granite. Softer rocks like marble (sedimentary) give you more choices for tools and methods.
