What is a good weapon for scaring 300-600 yard?
As for caliber, I'm leaning toward 0223 or 308 for the price of cheap ammo practice. I can not decide between a rifle like the AR 15 223 or Model 700 or a rifle bolt browning. I guess I'll do more shots closer to 300 meters so I'm inclined to choose the 223, but all suggestions for weapons? Plus, in an area well. I am entering long-range and shoot regular plate, sporting clays, pistol, etc etc. Any help is greatly appreciated.
First off, reload or just use munitions factory. If you want to shoot long range, reload if possible. I've been shooting long distance for years, both proffessionally comp (at work, no.) And recreational. My baby is a wild personal 112 243 Win. bolt in option VHLs. The wild, out of the box with its new ACCU reference values, are the rifles if you want an exceptional rifle that is easier on the pocketbook. After finding the suitable to reload his gun, I have fired a group of 1 1 / 4 inch at 300 yards. The 243 is a pet for me, because the load that I use will send you a 55 gr. Nosler ballistic tip toward the ground at 4100 fps. Wind shear was surprisingly low. 308 are more efficient ballistic, but the rock like a drop. But they continue to make out a great distance, time and again. 223's will drop like a rock over long distances with lots of shear wind. Only recommend his work to 250 or so. Model 700, out of the box, have crappy triggers in my opinion. I have one in the Police Sniper-version. It is an awesome shooter, but had to leave a Jewell trigger on it to get it. Areas ….. You get what you pay for here. Although … I used a contender BSA in a good rifle and was pleased with it. The best in my opinion is a group of the night. Impressive resolution and magnification. You can not say anything more than that. Others good ones are: Pentax, Springfield Armory, Leupold, just to name a few. Try to go with a tube of 30 mm more than 1 inch. You will receive more light transmission smaller size target. I also recommend Warne rings. I hope you can help.
