I made some clay that I bought at Walmart .. the type of clay color ….?
craft section, I thought it was just regular children clay … but the clay has dried and has not been three days or so, when you feel the sun that just get flexible again … and air conditioning is more difficult, but not yet dry .. … Is there any way to dry these things out??
There are several types of clay available – even "for children "- in crafts and other stores. Most are" air dry "clays and clay, Model Magic, Celluclay, Creative Paperclay, Makins, etc, and even some that are basically the "earth" clay and dried and hardened, but is somewhat fragile without then fired in a kiln. (Air dry clay in his house would be things like the mass of clay mud and salt from the pan.) The other two most common types sold are "polymer clay" and modeling "clay" (although some people use the term modeling clay called all the clay-like substances). Both are oil based so it never * * Air dry, but both temporarily soften the heat of the hands or handling. polymer clay (Premo, Fimo, etc) actually harden a short time in the heat of an oven (not dried yet, are * * Curing of a chemical reaction), but modeling clay (Plastalina, etc, and heavy things often sold on long sticks) never hardens with heat, as I also had a wax added to them (so it really * will melt if placed in an oven). So the conclusion is that if you have the first type of clay (dry air) should be dry by now. But if you have a polymer or modeling clay, "" or never "dry", but can harden the polymer clay in an oven at low heat .**. If you have a modeling clay simply will never enjoy really hard (you can put it somewhere we do not alter however, and should be fine and a little stronger). ** If you want to read about baking polymer Clay, check out this page at my polymer clay website: http://glassattic.com/polymer/baking.htm HTH, Diane B.
