What clays are best for molding onto wood?
I doing a project where i will be needing to mold clay on top on wood, and it needs to stick, really really well. Im looking for a air dry clay, oven bakes clay will not work, so, what do you think? I’ve already looked into DAS modeling clay, but i cant get it near me, so i have to order it online. So give me some suggestions and tell me where i could find them =)
all help is needed and appreciated =)
Water-wet clays and wood are a ‘no-no’ combination.
The moisture in the clay will cause the wood to swell a bit,
and shrink with drying, probably at a different rate from the clay.
You might try a dimensionally stable plastic compound like
Weld-Wood ‘plastic wood’ filler.
Work in a well ventilated area.
The vapors aren’t too healthy if concentrated.
