modeling the figure in clay
What clay would stick best on styrofoam to make a brain?

I’m doing some extra work for my anatomy class and I need to make a brain model. I have a ball of Styrofoam for the base of my brain and I just need to figure out how i could cover it in clay and actually make it stay. I was thinking that I could use glue but I heard that oil-based clay would stick best, any suggestions?

I am thinking carving the styrofoam in the desired shape and size and cover it with several rubber latex layers which will create quite a realistic texture in this case (its beige, almost skin color).Earth clay will not work, even the air dry clay will shrink some, probably the plasticine will work, but it will remain soft. Have you considered plaster? You can shape it when it looks like sour cream consistency, you can carve and sandpaper it later as well.
