What is the best wood for carving?

I was given a DREMEL tool and would like to carve and shape simple objects. I know BALSA is way to soft for carving so what type of wood is close to BALSA in light but sturdy enough to handle the carving and sanding of a DREMEL tool?

Any wood is good for carving but the best are :

Basswood, Butternut, Mahogany( Honduras) ,Walnut, Obbche ( called Wawa) Sassafras ,cedar, polar,pecan, peach, apple,peach,pear, pine,oak ( unknotted).
