carved native american style animals?
Years ago I came across some beautiful carved native american style bears, lions, eagles by a man and he decorated them with fur, feathers, leather and they carried drums, bows and arrows, etc. They were beautiful and I’d like to find something like them again. They were carved from wood, but were not Kachinas. They were animal spirits, I believe he said.
Known in our language as fetishes. They are extremely popular in Native American life and lives. Kokopelli, bear fetishes, eagles, fox, wolves even rabbits. This guy seems like a unique artist. Is he still around? What is his name? I collect Native American art from modern Native Americans because the old stuff should be in a museum(I sound like Indiana Jones here).
