are birch trees endangered?
At a family event some of my younger relatives went in the woods and cut down birch tree saplings to carve walking sticks with. The wood had that root beer smell and i am pos. they were wild birch. I live in MA. Am I mistaken or are birch trees a protected speices ?
As for asking the same ?. I copied it into multiple categories being as it was an unusual question and not knowing where to get the most serious and educated answer. Why isn’t that nice..esp. when coming from conservation concern? I think it is just as nice as checking on a person’s profile and making a statement as to how they chose to ask serious question.
I think the Virginia round leaf birch was for a time endangered. Now just threatened
On the federal list of endangered species, there is one variety of birch listed: Betula uber (Virgina round-leaf birch)
