Help with wood! Carved from a block?
Hello, I need to cut a small opening in a rectangular timber. I tried illustrated in a table here: http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b256/lando-45/ebay/wood.jpg What is the best, fastest, easiest way to do this and what tools are needed?
If I were doing, I would use a drill to drill as much as possible in half and then use a pair of very strong wood chisel and hammer to cut the rest. If you have access to a router, you can also leave the bulk of the volume and the use a chisel to the corners that the router could not do. The importance of using sharp scissors can not be emphasized too long.
