DOG PALACE…..anybody else?
I built a compound resembling a Vegas casino for my dog …..am I crazy??? Has anybody else done this? Mirrors,lights,plants,tiers,marble,meditteranean tile entrance way,bamboo wall coverings,front,rear and side entrances,front awning like Hilton,giant moose carved of wood,carpeting and fleece lined bedroom…….do not disturb sign……and bose stereo system(I made that up) ha ha……

This is so great.The closest I ever got to this kind of devotion was 20 years ago My ex-husband and I lived in the foothills outside Denver and the winters were very cold and the snow deep. We both worked and worried about our dogs, two of them, outside all day. One dog would probably have been fine since she was a samoyed/shepherd mix with long, thick white hair, but her little buddy, our baby was a terrier poodle mix, about 10 pounds, a mini-Benji.
Long-story short my husband built a little house for them about 12×12 with insulated walls, attic, pitched roof, heated floors, carpet, fresh water sink for keeping their water thawed, constantly renewed, and doggie doors–one large, one small that fastened shut with strong magnets to keep the wind out.
It was so great, we sold it with the house, for 1200 bucks.
Now my company has a competition every year for best doghouse design, we donate them for auction to help local animal shelters.
